The Game: Redemption

Comedy • Running Time: 70 mins
Performed by Milton Schorr and Brendan Murray
Hailed as ‘pure genius’, ‘superb’, and ‘funny as hell, brave as a motherf****r’, The Game: Redemption is back by public demand. For just five nights join legendary coach Frik Du Perez (Milton Schorr) and the giant female player Tatiana Romkova (Brendan Murray), as they face a shared secret that has haunted them all their lives.  Improvised according to a set story-line, every performance of The Game is one of a kind and never to be repeated, creating the on-the-edge energy that has made this show notorious.
The Game is long-form improvisation, with balls. It was first performed in Cape Town in June of 2009 before travelling to the Grahamstown Festival, where it received the worst review in the history of humankind. \"A waste of time and money..\', \'I felt embarrassed to be a part of the human race…\' and ‘no game, no talent, no storyline’ are just a few snippets from that landmark text.   As with all ground-breaking theatre real opinion was divided. \"It was like being on a f*****g roller coaster”, \"shock and awe\" and “I’ve never seen a group of people laugh this hard” were a few of the impressions gleaned.   That first review went on to form an integral part of the saga. Fueled by its unique improvised style The Game has continued to challenge audiences with its gut wrenching humour and searing subject matter, earning the franchise a cult status.   After a blazing debut at the Alexander Bar earlier this year, and following hot on the heels of the wildly successful Shannon’s Tongue, The Game: Redemption is back by public demand.
